Peoples Choice Hairstyles
The Good and the Not so Good
My take away from looking over the People’s Choice Awards this year of what is happening in the hair style scene is that long hair styles are still reigning and I’m seeing lots of the Old Hollywood retro waves. Celebrity hair stylist are liking the hair styles that our mothers and grandmothers would have liked . . . styles from the 30′s and 40′s seems to be on their agendas. Kat Dennings is a case in point in her sultry big waves from cheekbone down. Her makeup is the perfect match. Here are a few more examples from last night’s scene:
Julianne Hough’s beautiful blonde highlighted hair was softly curled with plenty of volume that oozed flirty, feminine, female charm. To get this much volume, it works best if you’ve got some natural wave to your hair.
Ginnifer Goodwin changes her hair with flips and head hugging flapper-like fingers waves of a 40′s vibe. Give this a try, especially if you are small and petite with large eyes.
Vanessa Hudgens wears a textured, mussy, updo that resembles a twist with a twist. This style works for a formal party, prom, wedding or any special event.
Ashley Greene’s center part with big trendy waves and soft porcelain make-up mirrors the trendy look of Old Hollywood. Brown hair color with auburn highlights really steals the show.
Kristen Bell’s seemed to have forgotten to use her hair products. I think she started the night with big waves, but this is what can happen if you don’t use the hair products that your hair stylist has recommended.
Kelly Osbourne is staying true to her style, but we say leave the grayed out color for a future date. To top it off the orangy-red lips wouldn’t have been my choice if I was her make up artist.
Zachary Levi, did your hairdresser really do this to you? I cannot think of a male celebrity who would look good in this style. This is fashion run amok!
Robert Pattinson debuted his new hairstyle at the Peoples Choice Awards. Quite frankly, I think he was hotter in his longer hair styles.
Ewan McGregor’s hairstyle rocks at People’s Choice Awards with a long fringe hair cut . . . casual cool.
