I had my hair coloured with inoa about two weeks ago. I love the colour, the feel of my hiar etc!! I did it over a kreatin blow wave and my hair is still the same. I was at a different salon this weekend and the stylist told me that the ingredents used in inoa is very dangerous and can increase risk of cancer and they willnot be using it? How will i know if it is safe??

I had my color done last July 2010 in LA Santa Monica by a woman who was on her own...had just started renting a chair due to her allergies at her long time salon. Her name was Tula, and she told me she ONLY did INOA. Well it's November and there has been no fading on my grey roots and it's time to find someone on the east coast. I have been using Bumble & B. Powder spray to get through the last few months with the new grey. I loved INOA and I can't wait to do it again.

I had L'oreal Inoa colour put on my hair exactly two weeks ago to cover my yellow brassy hair colour and it went a lovely beige natural colour, and it has now faded loads and it starting to look yellow a bit again, I rang my hair salon and luckily they are going to put the colour on again without any cost for me. It is a shame if its only going to last a couple of weeks, dont they do this in a permanent colour ???

I think that this marketing term of "No ammonia" is a crock. We all know that color has to have an alkalizing agent. To claim that MEA is better than ammonia is harmful to our industry..MEA has an odorless fume, is more astringent to the hair then a cosmetic grade ammonia, which is why L'Oreal INOA is having to add an oil base, not for penetration but for cuticle treatment. Don't be fooled by a marketing term used by many other hair color lines including Chi, and Vivitone Prisma to name a few...

I was interested in L'Oreal INOA because there are so many permanent hair colors on the market that use MEA instead of Ammonia... Why is this one special? When I used it, I found that the gray hair coverarge did not last (mine is really resistant) and the color did become dull looking. These are the common short comings of amonia free hair color, so I am not sure what all the hype is about.... Anyone else find that the color did something that would merit "break through" status?

Hello B Pullen,

While I can't say on my end if the salon you went to did something wrong, I am wondering what other clients who have experienced L'Oreal INOA think. You are the first person to comment about the product that has actually tried L'Oreal INOA.
I'd love to get more feedback from other readers to see if they are experiencing the same thing.
In the meantime, I'll contact L'Oreal INOA and find out more!
B Pullen, thanks for reading www.hairstyle-blog.com!
