Bad Hair Days Study Concludes it Affects More Than Your Appearance

Days Study”A bad hair day study from Yale University showed that a diminished appearance affected self-image and actually led to impaired test performance from its participants. In other words, if you’re uncomfortable with your looks, it might make you feel insecure about yourself, which can actually lead to more serious consequences than just a bad hair day.

According to the report, the perception of bad hair leads to reduced sense of performance and Self-esteem. Just the thought of a bad hair day caused women to feel they are not as smart as others. Other findings were that bad hair intensifies feelings of social insecurity and self-consciousness. Evidence shows that bad hair causes women to be more negative about themselves. Specifically, that a bad hair day leads  women to find more personal flaws that go beyond their looks.

The study was directed by Dr. Marianne LaFrance, Professor of Psychology at Yale University. It was commissioned by the team Launching Physique hair care by Procter & Gamble.

The good news: A change in hair style and hair color can perk up your spirits, much like smiling during a bout of the blues, which has been proven to actually improve your mood! So, try a red hair color to light a fire within you, or add some bouncy curls to puts spring in your step.

Lift up limp hair and spirits with layers for volume and swing, soften up a stem exterior with warm, golden highlights or cut that man right out of your hair with a cool crop. Changing your hair color and hair style may just change your life!
