The most common of wedding hairstyles requested in our salon, is an elegant up-do. My guess is this is because an elegant up-do, makes a statement that this is not just any ordinary day! An up-do for your wedding is the perfect choice to show off beautiful jewelry, the neckline of your dress, toned arms and, of course, your wedding day glow. So, for those of you who have chosen to go with up-do’s for your wedding hairstyles, here are some things I suggest to make your wedding hairstyles picture perfect.

If your bridal gown is ornate, you can pick from any number of wedding hairstyles or up-do’s that are equally as elaborate. You can choose a complex up-do, or you can add to a simple up-do by using beautiful hair accessories that sparkle and shine. The key to any great wedding is in the coordinating. Your wedding hairstyle, dress, shoes and even location should all coordinate to flow smoothly together. Keep this tip in mind when planning out your big day.

A simple chignon works perfectly if you want the formality of an up-do without all the fuss

A loose chignon would go perfectly with an outdoor ceremony or a dress with minimal embellishments. This year we’ve seen more celebrities walking the red carpet wearing these hairstyles reminiscent of the “flapper” era, and that has influenced many ‘brides to be’ to set the tone back to this romantic era.
