Short Formal Hairdos are Hot!

Note once again to make this a more formal do, remember the earrings . . . the earrings. To add all this fullness to this shape, Keira’s medium thick hair have been layered and texturized throughout to break it up.

Style with volumizing products, shampoo or mousse and spray roots with a product like, Matrix root lifter Blow dry hap-hazardly to create fullness. Use your favorite styling gel or pomade to ends for a piecey look.

Both of these short formal hairdos like Katie Holmes’s, fall into classic hairdos! This short crop cut with longer layered bangs looks especially ‘cute’ on oval or petite face shapes. Other face shapes that can wear this well include heart, diamond and sometimes rectangle. Round face shapes normally should avoid this hairstyle, but there are some exceptions, your hairdresser should be able to help you.

The slightly inverted chin-length bob with bangs is also a classic shape that makes it fit our list of short formal hairdos. This hairstyle is cut just slightly shorter in back. Part of what gives this short hairdo a formal look is the chic, sleek styling. Use a flat-iron and a shine serum like Morrocanoil to create this look. This hairdo fits most face shapes and will work best with straight hair.

Elisha Cuthbert short hair shows the way for those of you who are gun-shy about short hair

These two before of Elisha Cuthbert hair pictures give you an idea how powerful an impact short hair can have on some hair types. Many times during my career I have had clients with fine and thin hair who are reluctant to cut it short when I have recommended it.

I believe there is some psychological fear of wearing short hairstyles, I’m not sure exactly what it is, but I have heard enough responses that mention being afraid, for it to be coincidence. I’d be interested in hearing comments from anyone who can explain it for me.

If you have fine and thin hair and have been wearing your hair in medium or long hairstyles, these Elisha Cuthbert short hair photos will give you the courage to take the leap and try a short haircut. It is a shame how few women are bold enough to go short.
