North America Hairstyling Awards 2008

North America Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), is the most highly acclaimed hairstyling competition in North America. Licensed professionals compete amongst 19 different categories in a photograph-based competition. The winners were just announced at the star-studded Cosmoprof Beauty and Cosmetics Trade Show, July 13–15th, at Mandalay Bay, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Over 600 entries were vying for recognition of their own unique vision and artistry in 19 different categories. This is where the innovative, get to be ingenious and let the imagination fly!  And that they did, indeed!

I’ll post more on the competition later, but for now I wanted to give a heads up to all you ”Shear Genius” fans.  Tonight is Episode 4 of “Shear Genius,” on Bravo TV 10/9c.  Of course, these episodes were taped earlier, so Charlie, the winner of “Hairstylist of the Year” from NAHA, won’t be recognized or given any kudos by the shows panel for this award he has just received.
If you are a fan of the hair, you should tune into an episode of ”Shear Genius.” Twelve stylists live together and compete in 24 challenges to win the prize of $100,000, an apprenticeship with Nexxus and a style shoot for the cover of Allure magazine. One stylist is eliminated by a panel of celebrity judges each episode.  

Charlie Price is the owner of Click Salon in Denver Colorado. He is known to blatantly speak his truth with a bit of an attitude (which is just the profile type Bravo TV’s, ”Shear Genius” loves.)

    1. This was a great shoot with Charlie Price. The collection took 1 day to shoot in his house. I used one light to light the models and used the walls and the furniture as props. To see the collection bigger visit my site under NAHA link.

      Tons of kudos to you . . . you did a FABULOUS shoot in this photo based competition . . . obviously your artistic talent played as much of a role in the win as Charlies!!
