Summertime is about here and let’s face it, who wants to spend time puttsing with their hair? I mean really wouldn’t you rather be at the beach, boating, biking, hiking, golfing, anything but having a wrestling match with your hair style? Life is too short, now is the time to be doing . . . and that doesn’t mean your hair.

Ok, I admit we need some doing in styling our hair, but this is a good time for changing your look and easing up on your regular routine. Hair styles this time of year should reflect the mood . . . casual, like the lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer.

Rihanna’s is fearless when it comes to changing hair styles. Her hair stylist, Ursula Stephen says, “Rihanna’s addiction is changing her hair style.” And, don’t you love her for it? She’s an example to us all that change can be a good thing, and not as painful as the delusional self might have you believe. Changing your hair style keeps you from falling into the rut of “dating” yourself. Just think how much time Rihanna will save in her morning and evening routine with this short hair style this summer . . . and  she looks like a doll!

The hair is cut super short at the nape getting fuller above the occipital. The top has full layers that are razored and point cut for a dramatic fringe effect.  For an all-out glam look at the NRJ 2008 Music Awards she simply uses a flat-iron creating lift at the crown and accentuates her pointed, side swept, emo hair style bangs. Finish by misting with spray gloss. (Don’t worry that the fringe is always in your eyes, it can be styled to the side and out of the eyes).

The old adage “Life is short,” seems especially true of summertime. Before we know it, its gone! If you’ve been considering a hair style change, now is a good time to think short hair styles . . . get to the beach and kick back!
