“Popular Hairstyles”

Your hairstyle can either age you or make you look younger. The question is, what do you want to achieve from your hairstyle?  I know, for myself, I’d like the latter of the two.
Let’s take a look at how these popular hairstyles can give you that youthful look you are after. First, what does youthful hair look like? Youthful hair is often full-bodied and very shiny. Hairstyles that make you look younger should be loose and touchable. Here are some great examples of popular hairstyles that will help you achieve a younger look.

Jennifer Aniston’s Popular Hairstyle

See how this tousled hairstyle gives Jennifer Aniston a more youthful look. This is a great example of how a bit of body goes a long way in adding youth to a hairstyle. Working with your natural texture is easy and will make you look younger!

Poplular Hairstyles

Popular hairstyles, like this pulled back hairstyle doesn’t do much to give you a youthful overall look. Instead, try a softer hairstyle like this one:

Reese Witherspoon’s Popular Hairstyle

This hairstyle is also full of body, just like Jennifer Aniston’s second look. Body and touch-ability go a long way in taking years off your look. Get body by setting hair on hot rollers or giant Velcro rollers. Either one will give you beautiful, touchable hair full of body.

Drew Barrymore’s Popular Hairstyle

Although Drew Barrymore has got the popular hairstyles part down with the big ‘do, she is missing shine, which is a key element in youthful looking hair.

A little shine serum goes a long way to create a younger looking hairstyle on Drew Barrymore. If your hair is dull or lackluster, you can use a shine serum to create a beautiful sheen like seen here.

Remember, when trying to achieve a youthful look with all popular hairstyles, add softness, body and shine to achieve the look.

    1. I love your article. I really need help, I am 32, have 4 children and work full time. For years I have had short hair. I really would like long hair, but every time I grow it out (it reaches just above my shoulder) I worry that it ages me, and I cut it. Right now it is like a pixie. I know that color has a lot to do with aging you also. I have had every color of the rainbow on my head. I just need some guidance so that I can set a goal and stick with it. Thanks so much.

    2. I am in desperate need of ideas. My son is getting married in 3 weeks and I can’t find any hair styles I like. My hair is mousey blonde, which I want to dye and highlight, but am afraid it will make me look like I am trying to be young. The hair is at the nap of my neck in length, and rounds my face. I would like something that is stunning. I have been very sick for the last year, and my face is sunk in and baggy eyes. I just for one night want to look like I am not sick. and enjoy my night. Any help would be great and appreciated. ! Thank you so much for your time.

    3. Jeri,
You CAN look and feel better by getting a great haircut and a better hair color or highlight!
Hair color can make a big difference in brightening your look, it’s usually best to go within one or two shades of your natural color.
My best advice is to get a good recomendation for a great stylist and/or colorist. Read this for how to find a colorist; http://www.hairstyle-blog.com/want-to-find-a-certified-hair-colorist.html
Ask around for a great stylist referral . . . it’s your best way to find one. Type “How to find a hair stylist” into the sites search box for more information.
You will feel so much better if you get it done right!
