10 Best Oscar Hairstyles
And the award goes to . . . .
How does a girl get ‘hairstyle ready’ for a party like the Oscars? These formal hairdos crop up for these Hollywood celebrities via a fabulous hairdresser, an outstanding hair colorist and just enough deep conditioning treatments to ‘Wow’ their audience!
There are some hairstyles that simply stand the test of time . . . and these are the classic formal hair styles we see time and time again, at Hollywood’s biggest event of the year, The Oscars.
Our ‘Top 10 Favorite Oscar Hairstyles,’ compiled from recent years, show us that ‘classic’ and ‘elegant’ hair styles define the picture of star quality for such a formal event. So what does this mean for you? When you have an event or occasion where you want to imply a timeless, classic look, here are the hairstyles to mimic that are ageless and enduring.
Jessica Alba set the stage for the braid trend, (and it still rules) at the 2008 Oscar Awards with this fabulous combination, French side braids integrated into a braided bun. The hairstyle is enhanced with highlights that peek out and help define the braids and the chignon. This hairstyle was shear sophistication!
Amanda Seyfried at the 2009 Academy Award’s looked exquisite! We imagine this style will be seen again at this year’s Oscar’s don’t you think? It’s a classic retro look with a deep diagonal parting and big sultry, tantalizing waves. Old is new again and again and again!
Halle Berry’s hairstyle at the 2009 Academy Awards is simple elegance! What makes this simple hairstyle make people “oooo” and “ahhhh?” To me, it’s one part beautiful healthy hair and hair color, one part shine that doesn’t quit, one part the soft face framing curl paired with the chignon and fabulous earrings and . . . ok, the woman is naturally drop dead gorgeous!
Kate Winslet get’s our vote two years in a row for “outstanding hairstyles most fitting for the occasion.” At the 2010 Oscars, Kate looked classic in ‘Old Hollywood’ retro waves with a deep side part. In 2009 she was stunning at the Oscars, in this quiff hairstyle, that once again made her stand out with that certain touch of elegance.
Beyonce, at the 2005 Academy Awards, won our hearts wearing this half up, quiff hairstyle. She shows a lot of neck here and still get’s the added benefit of showing off her long, shiny, caramel highlighted curls. A classic style never goes out of style. Oh, and don’t forget the chandelier earrings!
Reese Witherspoon’s hairstyle at the 2011 Academy Awards get’s an Oscar by us! Does she just keep getting prettier and prettier or what? This off the face quiff hairstyle elongates her lovely face shape, shows her beautiful the neck and with a dainty little headband and a few added emeralds to the mix . . . Voila . . . Oscar ready!
Michelle Williams at the 2011 Oscar’s stands alone with this short pixie hairstyle. This oh-so-simple but, oh-how-she-makes-it-elegant with color, height at the crown and a modern side swept bang. Michelle is up for Best Actress in a Leading Role at this year’s 2012 Academy Awards . . . you go girl!
