Celebrity Hair Stylist Shows This Year’s Hottest Red Carpet Trends

MELROSE PARK, Ill., March 2 — The Oscar’s red carpet has become the world’s greatest fashion show featuring gorgeous designer dresses, brilliant jewels and the most glamorous Oscar hair styles. What celebrities wear, and how they wear it that night has become an indicator of what the top fashion and beauty trends will be throughout the year.

The 78th Annual Academy Awards Fashion Preview offered an insider sneak peek at the trends we can expect to see worn by nominees, presenOscar Hair Styles reminiscent of the ’30s and ’40sters and guests attending this year’s Oscar ceremony.

With dresses from Issac Mizrahi, Bill Blass, and Richard Tyler among other designers the fashion forecast could be summed up as simple elegance, with lots of fitted styles in beautiful fabrics and great colors.

Roy Teeluck, celebrity hair stylist and owner of the Roy Teeluck Salon in New York City provided hairstyles and makeup for the runway show and his prediction is sophisticated updos will reign as this year’s biggest red carpet trend. “This year we’re accentuating volume with big, larger than life hair reminiscent of the ’30s and ’40s,” said Teeluck. “The key difference in these modern hair styles is that hair is not sleek or tightly pulled back, hair should have a soft and natural look.”

The couture gowns worn by celebrities at the Oscars are out of reach for most of us, but anyone can have a red carpet worthy hair moment. Follow these tips from Roy Teeluck to create your own Oscar hair inspired look at home:
