Choosing Trendy Over Natural Beauty is Always a Mistake

Today I happened across an article at fellow Glamer StyleGuru on Emo Hair Styles. As I looked through the Emo Hair Style Gallery I couldn’t help noticing how unattractive most of the Emo hair styles were.

A hairdresser cringes when an attractive female with a great face shape and wonderful hair to work with comes in to the hair salon and asks for a trendy hair cut that is bound to make her look less attractive. This is almost always a beauty faux paus and is a complete waste of natural beauty.

Yet generation after generation of women fall for naturally unattractive styles only to look trendy or fashionable. In the 60′s we had the beehive look that was hideous on almost everybody except the tiniest segment. Then we had the back-combed look of the 70′s and 80′s that looked stupid and tortured the hair. In the 90′s we had punk, then the Goth look and now Emo hair styles.

Classic beauties become classics by maximizing every natural beauty asset and never ever compromising attractiveness for style. Whenever you’re about to opt for a stylish look ask yourself: Do I want to be a classic beauty or just another yawner with this weeks hot, but ugly hairstyle.

Phelps arrives in Beijing with a longer, shaggier mens hair style

Michael Phelps swam the butterfly into his 8th Olympic Gold medal of the 2008 Olympics, with the hottest of mens hair styles today . . . the buzz cut! Phelps arrived in Beijing with a shaggy hair cut, facial hair and his big winning smile. But, when he hit the pool he raced with a traditional buzz cut and a clean-shaven face.

Ladies, I don’t have to tell you that with his perfect 6’4”/195lb body and boyish good looks, any haircut is going to look good! A buzz cut is simply a cool cut all year-long, no matter what sport a guy is hooked on. For any guy that wants a short, low-maintenance mens hair style, the buzz cut is the quickest and easiest haircut possible.

A buzz cut will also be the quickest drying style. Anyone can cut a buzz cut with clippers and a guard (usually between � to � inch). Just run the clippers all over the head and trim in front of the ears and along the neckline. To achieve a masculine hairline, try to go for more of a square shape along the neckline, rather than rounded one. Most women will agree, the buzz cut is simply a great looking mens hair style. It tends to bring out the masculine features of the face as it makes the face look more defined and the jaw appear wider.

The buzz cut is also worn by some men to conceal thinning. Some male celebrities wear a crew cut or buzz cut that has been treated with a darker color on the top. From members of the armed forces, athletes, rescuers, rock stars and the cute guy next door, buzz hair cuts are all around us. Looking short and neat, the buzz cut is the ideal mens hair style for both casual and formal situations.

Congratulations to Michael Phelps, who sacrificed his longer haircut, for speed as he swam the butterfly in the American’s World Record win of the 4x100m medley relay and closed out the swimming completion at the Water Cube.
