Hairstyling Comes to Reality TV
Hair Styling Reality Shows Debuts Tonight at 11pm ET on Bravo
You knew it had to happen . . . celebrity hair styling reality shows. Quite frankly I’m surprised it took this long. While I must admit that I am not a big reality show TV fan, but I’m exited to see this first episode just because it involves my field of expertise.
“I just hope the show focuses on hair styling creativity”
The show will be hosted by actress Jaclyn Smith and will give us a behind-the-scenes peak in the world of celebrity hair design. Celebrity hairdresser Sally Hershber will serve as the lead judge. Other judges will include Michael Carl, fashion director at Allure and hair styling superstars Frederick Fekkai, Ken Paves and Jose Eber.
Twelve experienced hairdressers will all compete for the grand price of $100,000 from the shows sponsor Nexxus. Many of the twelve hairdressers come from the west coast, which bothers me a bit, as there are some really great talent outside of the Hollywood Celebrity La-Dee-Da crowd. I have read all of the promotion material, but can’t make heads or tails on just how the elimination is going to work. I guess we will all find out in tonight’s first episode. I just hope the show focuses on hair styling creativity, instead of some sappy emotion tear jerker that characterizes so many other reality TV shows.
Anyway don’t worry if you can’t stay awake to watch it . . . I intend to record it any give you my take in a review. So sign up for my RSS feed if you haven’t already done so.
