Some Hints Hair Styling Ideas for Fine, Straight Hair

Women with this type of hair commonly complain that it looks greasy, won’t hold a style and has no body. To avoid the greasies, choose a shampoo tailor-made for your hair type, don’t condition every time you shampoo (and when you do, apply conditioner to ends only), and stay away from silicone shiners or glossifiers.

To pump up the body: spritz towel-dried hair with a volumizer, then begin blow drying as you bend from the waist. When hair is 80% dry, continue drying with a large round brush, rolling ends under. To further enhance fullness, place Velcro rollers horizontally from forehead to nape; roll remaining hair onto one Velcro roller on either side. Remove rollers after 10 minutes, then tease each section lightly with a fine- toothed comb. Finger brush hair to relax the style.

For simple sophistication, brush back either side and fasten with barrettes. (If your hair is short and layered, use a couple of decorative hair pins to secure). Lift the front with your fingers and spray lightly to hold.

Finally, keep in mind that fine hair will seem fuller when it’s no longer than chin length. If you opt for layers, be sure they’re done by a pro, or your hair will become even sparser.
