how do you get that dramatic white on black hair

I would like to know the secret to getting hair looking so white with out looking purple, pink or gray. I have a client with 80% gray (white ) and an under tone of some pepper ( slate ). I did a test with lifting her hair with 40 v. and then toning and it didn’t look like the White on Black (white) that appers in most of the photos seen here.

Manic Panic has an awesome color/toner called virgin snow. if you lift the hair to palest yellow then tone with that it will give you that amazing snow white! I’m a cosmetologist and do alot of alternative hair and this has been the winner for me!
