Free Virtual Hairstyle Giveaway
I’ve been meaning to get around to giving away a free customized virtual hairstyle makeover, for quite some time now. And I’m happy to say at last, here it is gals!!
If you are new here, I’ve been in the business of hair for longer than I’d like to admit. I developed an online class about 6 years ago that is still taught through colleges, universities and community education centers across the country called, Finding the Right Hairstyle for You! The class includes my customized designed virtual hairstyle makeover. I also have been teaching that class in a face to face format with about 80 educational centers in my area for the last 12 years. Women receive a virtual makeover with the class, with photographs they can bring to their hairdresser as well.
Virtual Hairstyles
The Ombre hair color trend is still strong after it started showing up in Hollywood this spring and it will be big for fall hair colors as well! The Ombre effect is high lighted strands from mid-shaft down. These high lights are easy to maintain as long as the high lights are 1 to 2 shades lighter than your base hair color. To create this effect, hair is high lighted, balayage style or painted on the hair from mid-shaft down. Or as in Sara Jessica Parker’s case, she also has added balayage high lights around the face.

The sections on finding the right hairstyles and colors has been very helpful.
I would love to hear more about hairstyles and cuts for different types of hair; for example, I have thick bra-line long brown hair with both fine and coarse hair mixed together, I have very curly ends, but the length weighs the top down, so I have the Christmas tree effect you wrote about with little sprigs of hair sticking up all over the top. In the past, I have had a Korean hair stylist do some type of $800 thermal straightening about every 2 years. I am now 31 years old, and long and straight is not a good choice for my age; so I would love to embrace my curls; I just don’t know what the best way to do so without looking like a frizzy–nappy headed Christmas tree.
I could use a little less about Updo styles.
