Your favorite hair style salon may be the best place to shop for a fathers day gift
It’s just a few days away, so what are you going to get that handsome man? Of course I have some ideas in the personal grooming department, but read on to hear the newest-oldest service for your guy!
Hows about a gift certificate to the “Shave, Beverly Hills,” the hip new high-end barbershop, where a man is treated like a man. I, for one, am excited that someone has reinvented an old lost shoe! (Keep your ears open for the next entrepreneur in your area to pick up on this great idea.) Don’t you think they deserve this? A place of their own, where the pampering is brought to a level appropriate for the opposite sex? No kidding, I love this, the guys can get their hair coiffed, hot towel straight- razor shave with soothing after shave, nails clipped and shoes shined while grooving to Miles Davis, watching Monday Night Football or sipping a complimentary glass of Guinness . . . now that’s service! Oh, not to mention a service called,”Uni-brow surgery.”
I saw the transition of when the line between barbershops, and beauty salons became a big blur and simply became “hair style salons.” It started in the 70’s as barbers started “styling” mens hair vs. just cutting it, a much welcomed evolution of man, wouldn’t you say? In fact that is how I met my hubby he was one of the generation of men who were brave enough to put up with all of the guff from the guys at the gym when he walked in with his razor cut. But now it’s 30 years later, and well, time to have a place of their own . . . no girls allowed!
Back to this Fathers Day, June here are a couple of ideas in the men’s hair care department, with the manly smells and all, nothing girlie here. Let the men, be men.
