Holiday Party Hair Tips
The holiday season is here so it’s time to think of that special easy hairstyle. To help you avoid a hair disaster just before that special party or family event, Dressy Tresses has put together the following holiday hair tips:
- When looking for a new haircut be very clear about how much length you want taken off before your stylist starts cutting. Using your fingers, show your stylist how much hair you are willing to have cut.
- Make sure the stylist shows you the first snip of hair before proceeding with the cut. The first snip is what your stylist will use as a guideline for your new length.
- It’s always helpful to have a picture of the style you are interested in. Make sure that you choose a photo of a hairstyle with hair that is similar to your hair type.
Another way you can make a great impression with your hairstyle is to temporarily change its texture. If you have curly hair you might want to straighten it with using the hot new Sedu flat iron for that Jennifer Aniston or Beyonce’ Sedu look. If your hair is straight, think about making large loose curls with a hot iron for a romantic Victorian look. Take the hair and bring it over one shoulder and loosely braid for a very feminine look. Secure the end with a velvet ribbon or use a tiny hair jewel on one side of the head for a little accent.
Caution Tip: Make sure you use a heat safe product before using a flat iron or curling iron. Grocery stores and beauty supply shops carry leave in heat safe products. Just spray the product onto your hair lightly before styling.
Jeweled Easy Hairstyles For The Holidays
This month we are featuring three new Holiday hairstyles for you: Simple, elegant and fancy.
Our first easy hairstyle is a simple low ponytail using Dressy Tresses’ fancy 360 Pony Holder.
Our second easy hairstyle is an elegant updo using a Dressy Tresses’ gothic hair claw. If your hair is long enough, the ends can be curled and left to fall over the claw. If your hair is shorter, you can fold the ends of your hair back down towards the head and secure with hairpins. To do this easy hairstyle, twist the hair up and secure the twist with a large hair claw.
Our third easy hairstyle is a fancy updo using our large Sparkle Tanzanite Barrette, hairpins and a curling iron. First the hair is curled with a curling iron if you have naturally curly hair you can skip this step. Half the hair is brought back and secured at the crown with a large barrette. The underneath hair is randomly twisted up under the barrette and can be secured with hairpins.
Remember when using a fancy hair accessory the attention of the piece will make people notice your hair. Try not to overdo the look with too much other jewelry. Just keep in mind that if you wear a crystal hair ornament, you should keep the rest of your look toned down. You don’t want to outshine the holiday decorations.
Headbands-These huge time-savers require no hairstyling at all. Bands of classic pearls, sparkly rhinestones or glittery jewels are just the thing for dressy cocktail parties. Simple bands can take you straight from the office to a night out on the town
