Coloring your hair? What about eyebrow coloring?

My answer Hanna, is simple — Don’t do eyebrow tinting! It’s a messy procedure and requires a gentle touch to keep you from looking like Groucho Marks’ sister! Take a look at Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Mariah Carey, Keira Knightley, they all have eyebrow coloring darker than their hairA better way to go is to have high lights foiled into your brown hair. Foiling a couple or more colors, one or two shades lighter than your natural hair coloring, into your hair will not only create depth and interest, but will be easier to maintain. It will look more natural and you should be able to easily go a couple months between hair coloring jobs. Now, the eyebrow coloring will look natural.
Take a look at Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Mariah Carey, Keira Knightley, they all have darker eyebrow coloring than their lightened hair. Most natural blondes eyebrow coloring are a shade or two darker than their hair. When the eyebrow coloring is too light, they need to use the lightest brown eyeshadow to accent their eyebrow coloring and frame their eyes! (The same goes for you women who are struggling with gray eyebrows you would like to look darker – blend light brown or gray eye shadows. You may be able to use eyebrow pencils, but use lightly.)
So, my opinion is Don’t color your hair totally blonde, nor your eyebrows, if you don’t want to end up looking fake! Rather, book a consultation with a hair colorist and get it right. Bring in pictures of high lighted hair you admire so you are both on the same page. If cost is a problem, go to a local, reputable cosmetology school. I’ve had many women in my classes that have been happy with results at the schools.

I have naturally blonde hair which I lighten every few months. My eyebrows are so light that in the summer, they disappear! I would like to make them darker–think of Sharon Stone in ‘Basic Instinct;’ the contrast between the dark brows and the blonde hair was striking. Regular hair dye says not to use on eyebrows because it could cause blindness. So what’s a girl to do? I’m tempted to try it anyway. Dark brows accentuate the eyes; very light brows are oh-so-blah. Can you help? Thanks!

My suggestion is just what I wrote in this post,
Don’t dye, use a eye shadow or eye liner pencil to fill in.

Hey, I have black hiar, and I want to dye my hair brown. I also am thinking about adding blonde highlights. But, there’s only one problem… what do I do about my black eyebrows?! It’s going to look retarded if I have black eyebrows and brown hair! Plz tell me what to do!

No worries Sara, don’t even worry about your black eyebrows. I have golden brown har, dark brown eyes, and black eyebrows. I Get comments every day about my ” beautiful” eyebrows. It’ll look great!

Why can’t you just get your eyebrows tinted to match your hair?? Most beauty salons do this for a reasonable price.

Hi, I have strawberry blonde hair to light blond in the summer, and I am planning on dying the back part of my hair, where I teas it, a few shades darker than my naturale hair color. will this make me look washed out, or make my face look even pailer than it already is?

i have really blonde hair but my natural color is medium shade of brown… the problem is that my eyebrows are really really light blonde…
i don’t know how to make my hair look good and my eyebrow look good… also i have very fair skin with freckles…

hey i have strawberry blonde hair and i would like to bye it a light brown and add some blonde at the bottom. i have short layers at the top and long at the bottom. will this look right? please give me some comments soon because im going to book the hairdressers soon, any pics would be lovely. :) x

-Brown skin [Indian] which was classed as “cool”
-Black hair with like VERY FEW natural dark brown strands in it..
-I have black/darkest brown eyebrows
I’m thinking of getting dark brown highlights.. not thick… Would my eyebrows look weird?

I have brownish red tinted hair, i’ve colored my hair so many times and this time i want to take a chance and i was thinking about bleaching my hair you know so its blond. Like platium blonde. haha. But my only worry is it won’t look right on me. My eyebrows are my other worry, somedays they look like a fair brown color other days they look like a strawberry red. I refuse to stay with coloring my hair brown and having it turn into a brownish red tint. i hate it. Please understand, i also will be putting different colors if i do color my hair blonde. like baby blue, a light brown underneath,pink and purple. but im afraid if i should do it. I’ve colored my hair so many times. Im pretty sure my naturnal hair color was Strawberry blonde. I hated it. Help me out please.

My suggestion would be to darken your eyebrows with eyebrow pencil or eye shadow. It doesn’t take long each day to do it and it’s not as risky as coloring them!

i used to have dishwater blonde that turns to a goldish blonde color in the summer i went platinum blonde once then dyed it brown i want my natural color back how can i do that without too much damage

I`m 39 and color my hair ,but I was wondering my eyebrows are dark brown almost black ,is this my natural color I`d be if I didn`t color my hair?

It’s not certain that your eyebrows are the same shade as your natural haircolor. They may be darker, but are probably pretty close.
If a colorist was to determine your natural hair color, they would need your roots to grow out about 1/2 to one inch. Try something like,”Tween time” to hide your roots as they grow out.

I was just looking for some tips on hair color matching to the type of eye-brow color and well all I can find is about women with dark eyebrows. Mine are more blonde than my hair but have maybe a hint of brown. I often wonder if I dyed my hair dark if it would look odd to have strickingly light eyebrows. I dyed my hair a dark shade of red once and it looked strickingly nice, I’m still considering something new, what looks good with light eyebrows?

i have really dark brown eyebrows and quite dark rbrown hair, i’m thinking about going a fiery red hair colour but dont know if i need to lighten my eyebrows or go a redish tinge as well!!! dont want to look weird 1:)

well i dyed my hair black, and my natural color is blonde, so my eyebrows are blonde and it looks like i have no eye brows at all. so i started penciling them in with black eye liner and i thought it looked fine, but my mom and sister said it looked too fake? so what should i do dye them black?

I don’t suggest the drastic change . . . but if that’s what you do, try using wet eyeshadow or a pencil for your eyebrows

You should get by with it; Mother Nature does it all the time. Start noticing natural redheads and I think you’ll find that most of them have a differnt colored eybrows from their natural hair. But after the process ask your hairdresser for an opinion. A good hairdresser should always be your final authority. They make their living knowing what looks good on people.
