Clairol Hair Color Campaign

Clairol Hair Color and Angela Kinsey of “The Office”

Clairol hair color has possibly just gotten easier’ to use for many of you DIY’ers. Clairol has a new campaign for their Nice n Easy brand. At the head of the campaign is actress Angela Kinsey from NBC’s,“The Office.” Angela plays Gigi, a guardian girlfriend’ that helps you with choosing your hair color. You can learn more about Angela Kinsey’s role for Clairol hair color here.“Clairol Hair Color Site Targeted to Home
Hair Coloring”
What I get from the new Clairol hair color campaign for Nice n Easy, is that they are working hard to make it easier for women to find the right at-home hair color. They offer a lot of good help. I called their 800# with some questions and found them to be very helpful and knowledgeable.

Clairol hair color offers a shade selector on the Nice n Easy portion of their website that helps you choose a color in three easy steps. You can see their shade selector here. First, you choose a color family; Blonde, Brown, Red. I chose brown since that is my natural (and current) hair color. Next, you select your shade; Light natural brown, Natural Medium Neutral Brown, etc. Sliding your cursor over the colors will allow you a good comparison to choose from. Clairol hair color gives great tips like for best coloring results, stay within two shades of your current hair color’

The only problem I saw in their shade selector was that when you click on your chosen shade to learn more about it, you don’t learn anything additional about the hair color. I would have preferred to click on my chosen hair color (Natural Medium Neutral Brown) and learned what skin tone color it is for, etc. Anyway, after you choose your hair color, you can then see what the box looks like and buy it right there or head to your local drugstore to pick one up.

I’m leery in suggesting that DIY hair color is for everyone however. Why? Because in the hair salon I do color correction on the mishaps people make when coloring their hair at home. For most people a bad hair color means more money and always a bigger headache than they bargained for. But, if people make use of the tools that Clairol hair color campaign is offering, I think there is a better chance for success with DIYers.

I would also like to add a few tips for our readers:

  1. Stick with the two shade rule; stay within two shades of your current hair color when coloring hair at home.
  2. .

  3. Do not try to go lighter than your current hair color. Hair color will not lighten hair color, so don’t expect to go from light brown to a medium blonde with a box hair color like Nice n Easy.
  4. .

  5. At-home hair color is best for in-between salon visits and root touch-ups, leave the fancy stuff to us.

  1. So what do you get by using Garnier hair color? Well, for one – long and strong hair! Your hair needs to be protected from free radicals. These damaging and inseparable parts of our environment play havoc when allowed to settle on and within the immune system and hair. No more grays, no more damaged hair, one application and you are sorted. Garnier is hair power!
