A hairstyling salon on wheels?

hairstylist,

A mobile hairstying salon coming soon to your town?

From the ‘what will they think of next” file, comes this announcement that this San Jose California hairstyle salon has gone mobile. This must be one special bus to make it through all of the regulation and health department hoops. I think it is a great service for all you harried 9 to 5er’s out there. I’l bet it is a huge money maker for the entrepreneurs behind this venture.

ONSITE HAIRCUTS

Do you find your weekends being eaten up by errands? Thanks to an ingenious local entrepreneur, you can now eliminate a trip to the hair stylist from your To Do list. Dena Kaufer, a 20-year veteran of the hair biz, has retrofitted three Winnebagos into full-feature salons on wheels. Her team of stylists drive their mobile barber shops onto the campuses of Silicon Valley’s biggest tech firms so employees can get a quick snip-and-trim without leaving the company office park. Some of OnSite’s stops are open to the public, while some stops are designed for campus employees only. Check the website for appointment availability near your workplace.

    1. […] What an exciting time to be in the hair styling business. New business opportunities are everywhere. It seems like not a month goes by that I don’t see some new concept. Many of which really excite me with their potential. For example the mobile hair salon concept that I wrote about back in February. Now comes yet another brilliant idea reported by BehindtheChair.com a site devoted to industry news for hair stylists and hair salon owners. […]

    2. I’v been in the business for 17yrs and licensed tired of the shop hopping and would love to be apart of your team from Philly Pa, and if their is any openings please feel free to send me a e-mail. I think this is a wonderful solution for entrepreneurs that are tired of the same thing and feel a little more secure and safe because of the traveling.

    3. I am tired of the cosmetology schools. I have been working off and on with them for 3years. It has so many catty women to work with there. It drives me crazy. I enjoy teaching but can’t deal with the people working in the schools. Got any ideas.

    4. Lynn,
If you enjoy teaching, why not apply to being a platform artist for one of the many product manufacturers out there?
If you don’t mind travel and being on-stage, it’s a great way to be independent and let your creative side shine!!
