Formal Hairdos

Formal Hairdos, the simple things to watch

Preparing for formal hairdos, does not have to be tedious and costly. With so many things to do and little time and money to do them, your formal hairdo for the holiday office party or family dinner may wind up at the bottom of your list. However, you can be the high light of any event without spending a ton of cash.

With these simple techniques, you can transform your formal hairdos into a festive hairstyle for the holidays.

The Bob ~ is a classic and formal hairdo, that can be worn may ways to make it trendy, yet sheek. The first step is getting the right haircut to fit your face shape, which should be a layered bob so it adds volume and versatility. Then, hair can be blown straight or set on large rollers for added body. In order to transform this classic formal hairdo into trendy hairstyles, you should add little or lots of big barrel curls to the ends.

Another Great Formal Hairdo

Vintage Coif/Formal Updo’s ~ the formal updo is hottest hairstyle worn this year on red carpets. Inspired by the 40s hairstyles and 50s hairstyles look, this hairstyle can be worn with short, medium or long hair. After setting the hair on small or medium sized rollers, hair can be molded into a soft wave pattern or pinned into a french braid or chignon formal hairdo. Be sure not to over saturate the hair with hairspray, so it stays soft and easy to manage.

Coordination ~ One of the biggest mistakes we make during the holidays are over coordinating our image. A fabulous formal hairdo combined with a sexy dress, bright make-up, and over the top accessories, can make for an overdone mess. Be sure your entire look is coordinated and everything complements each other. If you decide to wear a classic cocktail dress and add a bold vintage accessory, don’t over due it on the formal hairdo or make-up. Instead, try opting for a formal updo. Remember you don’t want to be in competition with the holiday décor, so keep it simplistic and sheek.

Preservation ~ Lastly, to ensure your formal hairdo lasts for your entire event, keep your hair pinned or wrapped while you enjoy cooking, decorating, and wrapping gifts.
