Ashlee Simpson’s New Hair Style Gets Noticed

Ashlee Simpson’s New Hair Style Grabs Attention

A new fiance is not the only thing new in Ashlee Simpson’s life these days. How about this hot new hair style?

“Ashlee Simpson has a new hair style”

Switching it up is easier than you may think. Ashlee still gets to keep her long flowing hair, but by radically changing the hair color, adding in a different bangs and styling it out smooth and sleek, she’s a new girl!

Ashlee shows her trendy sense of style with this long sleek asymmetrical hair style. The hair is texturized by razoring the long layers and the asymmetrical bangs are accented by using a flat-iron and piecing them out with a light pomade or wax. Add a fabulous new vivid red hair color and . . . voila . . . a new star.

I love the new hair color and hair style change created for Ashlee and just in time for the release of her new album, “Bittersweet World.” The celebrity hairdressers really know how to kick things up a notch and get their star noticed. When the celebrities go from glam curls to straight sleek hair style overnight and switch from one end of the hair color spectrum to the other . . . well, they are going to get noticed.

Maybe you don’t need to do a hair style and hair color change, but keep in mind a little change can go a long way to mix it up a bit this spring!

How To Get Hair Like Taylor Swift

How to get Taylor Swift Hair

.

How to do Your Hair like Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift, (with that beautiful head of long curly hair every gal envies) won both video of the year and female video of the year at the CMT Music Awards 2008 on Monday night.

“How to Curl Hair Like Taylor Swift”

Taylor Swift is just 19 years old, looks like a bohemian princess and has a voice to match . . . don’t you just hate her?

I didn’t r e a l l y mean that now, but some girls have all the luck. I mean like that naturally beautiful long curly blonde hair that looks just shy of perfect, and somehow effortless and wistful.

Back in the 70′s and 80′s, when spiral perms were the big thing, the long curly Taylor Swift hair is exactly what every long haired women wanted. The problem was that with long, spiral curly perms came frizz and sometimes uncontrollable volume. You’ve seen pictures . . . think Rosanna Rosanna Dana. And since we all want the Taylor Swift hair we haven’t got, salons were full of straight haired women paying their dues and trying to wrestle their hair into submission. If you have naturally straight hair you would be better to stay away from chemical treatments that try to take your hair to the opposite extreme.

If you have hair with some wave and body in it, you can get the Taylor Swift hair look. One easy fix is to invest in hair extensions. Hairuwear by Ken Pave’s and Jessica Simpson are hot right now. They are easy to put in and take out with just three clips, they look real and they are priced right. Price ranges from $45.00 for synthetic to $200.00 plus for real hair. If you want long soft cascading curls or long curly hair see how easy it is to do here.

If you have long wavy hair with body and are willing to do some hair styling, this method works great!

Use a volumizing shampoo and follow with a conditioner you like.

  • Spray a root lifter on roots and use a volumizing mouse, styling spray or gel if you like.
  • Blow-dry smoothing the cuticle
  • Mist with a thermal active spray
  • Starting at the nape, clip hair up dropping 1″ horizontal sections down at a time. Using a 1″ or 1 1/4″ barrel curling iron, wrap hair around barrel starting close to the scalp in a spiral motion leaving ends out to curl last. This will allow the hair to be curled evenly throughout its entire length.
  • Gently drop without pulling out the curl.
  • Mist curls lightly with finishing spray before dropping down next section to be curled.
  • Drop down sections repeating above till done.

Your ends shouldn’t be frizzy if you make sure to get them cleanly covered with your curling iron. But a light smoothing serum used by rubbing it into your palms and coaxing the ends down with your fingers will also do the trick.

Hair Stylist is Not Your Mother’s Hairdresser

Trade Show Attendee in Clown Dress

Hair stylists today is very different from just a few years ago

The stylists that are showing up at today’s hair styling conventions are a different breed. Today I had a chance to attend one of the bigger shows in this area. It’s been a while since I have been to one of these hair shows and was quite surprised that the average hairdresser who attends these shows, looks different and has a very different attitude.

In years past a hair styling convention was quite a fashion event. The hair stylist attendees dressed in their very best high fashion outfits, high heels, lots of glitter, makeup and of course every imaginable hair do that mankind could possible come up with.

It was important to be seen by your peers as being on the cutting edge of style and fashion.

Not so anymore, today’s hairdresser attendees are much less fashion and style conscious and much more focused on learning and perfecting their trade. It was not unusual to see a stylist dressed in jeans and a subdued blouse or top. And of course there were a few pretty edgy hair styles, most were pretty ordinary.

At lunch I sat with about six attendees from a variety of different salon types, big ones, little ones, a business salon a rural salon owner. What we all had in common were the fact that every one of us was a veteran of 20 years or more.

For the consumers I think this should be very good news. Lets face it very few of us can show up in the classroom or work date with a hair style that looks like it came from a fashion runway. But all of us can recognize and benefit from a truly well crafted haircut.
